Sprinkler system stops Green Valley house fire

GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A fire that started in a garage did not spread to a home because of a sprinkler system.
Chuck Wunder with the Green Valley Fire District tells KGUN9 that crews were called to the 2800 block of east Greenside Place Wednesday night and found smoke and flames coming from the garage area.
Crews extinguished the fire in the garage and saw that it failed to move to the house because of a residential sprinkler system.
It took 16 firefighters about 10 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The cause is still under investigation and damages are estimated at $30,000.
