Sierra Vista National Night Out promotes crime prevention programs

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Sierra Vista Police Department held its annual National Night Out event Tuesday to develop and promote crime and drug prevention programs.
Those in attendance got to witness a medical helicopter land, and see a demonstration of the Arizona Department of Public Safety's canine unit.
The event was held at the Veteran's Memorial Park and works in cooperation with thousands of crime watch groups and law enforcement agencies throughout the country.
In addition to SVPD, other participating agencies were:
- Sierra Vista Animal Control
- Fort Huachuca Military Police
- Department of Public Safety
- Border Patrol
- Cochise County Sheriff's Office
- US Forrest Service
- Sierra Vista Fire Department
- Frye Fire District
- Fort Huachuca Fire Department
