TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - It's Columbus Day, which means that some commonly frequented government buildings and offices will be closed. Which places are affected? Nine On Your Side compiled this list for viewers to reference.
Government buildings
-- County, state and federal offices will be closed Monday. City offices will be open.
Bus
-- Sun Tran buses and Sun Shuttle transit services will operate on a regular weekday schedule Monday. For information, call 792-9222 or go to www.suntran.com
Post offices
-- Closed Monday
Pima County Public Library
-- Pima County public libraries will be closed Monday. The Oro Valley Public Library will be open.
Banks
-- Most are closed Monday. Call specific branches to confirm their hours of operation.
School districts
-- Schools are in session
University of Arizona and Pima Community College
-- Classes in session
Motor Vehicle Division
-- Offices closed Monday
Emissions
-- Test stations are open with regular hours Monday
City garbage and recycling
-- The city of Tucson's garbage and recycling collection services will operate as normal. The Los Reales Landfill will be open Monday. For information, call Environmental Services at 791-3171 or go to www.tucsonaz.gov/esd
County garbage and recycling
-- All county landfills and transfer stations will be closed Monday. This includes the Tangerine Road, Ajo and Sahuarita landfills, and the Ryan Airfield and Catalina transfer stations. For information, call 243-7400. For recycling or waste collection in Pima County, call your collection company to confirm the schedule.
-- There will be no Waste Management Services on Monday. Collection will be delayed by one day all week. For more information, call 744-2600.
