Blind marathoner says he's guided by God's vision

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A former Marine who was blinded in a random drive-by shooting says he's guided by God's vision when he runs long-distance races.
Thirty-nine-year-old Travis Brown, of Surprise, Ariz., is entered in Saturday's Wild Hog Grand Forks Half Marathon. He has run 17 half marathons and one marathon since losing his sight.
Brown was shot on Valentine's Day 2009 while driving to work in his hometown of Phoenix. The bullet struck him between the temple and left eye socket and exited his skull.
Brown tells the Grand Forks Herald he runs not to compete, but to share his message and raise money for the International Voice of the Orphan.
Brown's signature race T-shirt reads: "Caution: Blind Runner. A man with a gun took my sight, but God gave me vision."
