TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) – Week-long road renovations will cause many lane restrictions and detours in Tucson, starting Monday.
According to a news release, Southern Arizona Paving will restore General Hitchcock and Mount Lemmon Highway, and Pima County Department of Transportation will repair Kinney Road.
The pavement will be crack sealed on General Hitchcock and Mount Lemmon Highway from Milepost 18 to Milepost 25. A pilot car will direct traffic through the detour. The construction is expected to operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and should be completed by Friday, Oct. 5.
Kinney Road will have lane restrictions from Tucson Mountain Park to just south of Gates Pass Road. Erosion repairs, pavement patching and street sweeping are expected to cause delays. Construction will be from Oct. 1 through Thursday, Oct. 11 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Pima County Department of Transportation.
The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather or mechanical failure. Contact Annabelle Valenzuela for more information at (520) 740-6410.
