Urn wrapped in American flag found in trash, turned over to police

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Police were given a gym bag Wednesday with unusual items.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with TPD tells KGUN9 that someone found a gym bag in a trashcan near South 8th Avenue and West Veterans Boulevard with an urn inside.
The cream-colored urn had a sealed bag with suspected human remains, and was wrapped in an American Flag.
The bag also had personal letters, pictures and old newspaper clippings.
Officers are trying to determine if the bag was taken during a theft or burglary, and whether the owner knows that the items are missing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Tucson Police's non-emergency number at 791-4444.
