Feds seek earlier sentencing date for Loughner

TUCSON (AP) - A new sentencing date has been requested for the man who pleaded guilty in the Tucson shooting rampage that wounded former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
Prosecutors asked U.S. District Judge Larry Burns to move Jared Lee Loughner's sentencing to Nov. 8 because some victims of the shooting have scheduling conflicts on the current Nov. 15 sentencing date.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says in a court filing Thursday that Loughner's attorneys haven't objected to moving the sentencing up by one week.
Loughner pleaded guilty in early August to 19 counts under a plea agreement that guarantees he will spend the rest of his life in prison and makes him ineligible for parole.
Six people were killed and Giffords and 12 others were wounded in the January 2011 attack.
