GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies are raiding a construction company's Glendale offices looking for workers who are using false identifications to get jobs.
Sheriff's spokesman Jeffrey Sprong says deputies raided United Construction Group Thursday morning. He says they suspect at least 16 of the nearly 130 employees used false IDs to get work.
Arpaio's office has conducted nearly 70 workplace raids in recent years looking for illegal immigrants who use false identifications to qualify for jobs. Arpaio says more than 600 arrests have been made.
