SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A 21-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after fleeing from police on a motorcycle at an estimated speed of 170 miles per hour.
Cpl. Scott Borgstadt with Sierra Vista Police tells KGUN9 that Travis Sartain drove on to State Route 92 and quickly accelerated.
The officer tried to catch up to Sartain but even at 120 mph, he was unable to do so.
Sartain began to slow down enough for the officer to catch up and when he tried to make a traffic stop by activating his emergency lights, Sartain continued to drive.
Sartain eventually pulled into a residence on South Pueblo Avenue and the officer was able to arrest him.
When questioned about how fast he was going, Sartain told the officer he thought it was 170 mph.
He was booked into the Cochise County Jail and charged with exhibition of speed, reckless driving and unlawful flight from law enforcement.
