A man suffered serious injuries after crashing stolen motorcycle

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Deputies are investigating a single-vehicle motorcycle accident involving a stolen bike.
A 24-year-old man is in serious, but stable condition after he crashed a stolen motorcycle into a gravel roadside in the 5300 block of east River Road around 1:00 p.m. Monday, according to Deputy Tom Peine with the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
Peine tells KGUN9 that witnesses said the man was driving recklessly, passing a double yellow line and popping wheelies. He hit a roadside curve just before crashing into some rocks.
The man was transported to University Medical Center where he is currently in surgery being treated for serious injuries.
Deputies continue to investigate the case.
