TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A senior at Mountain View High School earned a position on the National Junior Olympic Team and is considered one of the top junior men skeet shooters in the nation.
Tamara Crawley with the Marana Unified School District tells KGUN9 that 17-year-old Luis Gloria finished in the top three at the National Junior Olympic Championships, and earned a world-class score in skeet shooting.
Gloria will compete at the Fall Selection Match in October in Texas. There he will compete for a spot at the World Shotgun Championships which will be held in Lima, Peru in 2013.
The competition in Peru is one of the steps Gloria needs to take to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Gloria has been shooting Olympic style since 2007 and began competing in 2010.
