TUCSON (AP) - Enrollment at the University of Arizona has exceeded 40,000 for the first time. The university says more than 40,200 students enrolled for this year.

That's nearly 1,000 more students than last year.

The school also has more than 1,900 new transfer students this year. That's a 6 percent increase over last year. Many new transfer students came to the university from Pima Community College.
