TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Interstate 10 eastbound at Twin Peaks Road has reopened after a single vehicle rollover crash Wednesday, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
All eastbound lanes were initially closed.
Capt. Adam Goldberg with Northwest Fire says one man was trapped inside his vehicle after it rolled several times.
Crews had to use the Jaws of Life to free him and he was then flown by helicopter to the University of Arizona Medical Center with critical life-threatening head injuries.
The man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Northwest Fire would like to remind drivers to be prepared for freeway travel. This includes being rested for a drive, not texting or engaging in other distracting activities while driving, observing posted speed limits and making sure your car or truck is mechanically sound.
