TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The National Weather Service in Tucson has extended the small stream flood warning for central Pima County.
Residents in this part of the county can expect flooding to continue to pose a threat until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.
At around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, the Vamori Wash remained above the flood stage. It is slowly dropping, according to the NWS, but water levels have only dropped to 9.7 feet.
Due to the slow drainage of the Vamori Wash, the basin is expected to remain above flood stage throughout Wednesday morning.
Residents and motorists in central Pima County should be especially cautious at night when it is harder to see rising and rapidly running waters.
