PHOENIX (AP) - Police say a homeowner in Phoenix thwarted a burglary attempt at his house and fired at least one round from a shotgun at three suspects who then fled the scene.

Phoenix police spokesman Trent Crump says one of the suspects suffered a minor injury to one of his legs that may have been the result of a pellet from the shotgun.

Crump says the victim confronted the burglars as they were trying to pry open a door on Monday morning.

Police later arrested the three suspects after they fled the scene in a vehicle.
