TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) -Stuff the bus is a nationwide back-to-school tradition. Saturday, Amphi area students and their families did just that.

However, the story behind this particular clothing drive is unique.

This year, the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation is a co-sponsor.

Nine-year-old Green was killed in the January 8, 2011 shooting. Today, Christina would have been in fifth grade.

“I really didn't know [the foundation] was going to get this big. I'm just so thrilled. We've built playgrounds, given away thousands and thousands of dollars to local schools and youth programs,” said Christina’s mother, Roxanna Green.

“It's part of the healing process. [We're] giving back and fulfilling her dreams because that’s what she would want to do if she was here,” said Green.

All four of the stuffed buses contents; clothes, shoes, coats and blankets will be donated to the Amphi School District Clothing Bank.

“I know Christina's smiling down from heaven and she's proud of us for everyone who came together here to donate clothes,” said Green.

The Amphi Foundation also sponsored the event.
