Northwest Fire Chief resigns after 28 years

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Northwest Fire Chief Jeff Piechura announced his recognition Friday, after he accepted an offer to lead the Stockton, Calif. Fire Department.
His recognition will be effective Oct. 6.
The District's governing board will establish the procedure to determine Piechura's successor, and will convene next week to talk about the transition.
Northwest Fire District has ten fire stations and 192 firefighters.
