TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Golder Ranch Fire District rescued two lost mountain bikers today on the 50-year trail off Golder Ranch Road near Catalina.

Golder Ranch Fire District was notified by Pima County Sheriff's Officers at noon to assist them in finding the cyclists.

One of the mountain bikers began experiencing heat cramps and dehydration after getting lost and running out of water, according to Golder Ranch Fire PIO William Seeley.

Members of the Golder Ranch Special Operations team and PCSO Officers walked the trail looking for the stranded cyclists. They were found five miles off the trail.

Crews from Golder Ranch Fire attached an IV to rehydrate the cyclist experiencing heat symptoms and assisted them down the trail.

Both mountain bikers refused transport to the hospital, said Seeley.

Golder Ranch Fire District wants to remind everyone to carry plenty of water when spending time out in the heat. It is also important to let someone know where you will be and when you'll be back.
