TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man is dead after he succumbed to injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
Harry Lundberg, 89, succumbed to his injuries on the morning of Thursday, August 30 after a 2006 Toyota four-door collided with his Toyota Prius at the intersection of Speedway Blvd and Houghton Road just before 5:30 p.m. Monday, August 27, according to Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department.
Once on scene, officers determined that the Toyota Prius was headed westbound on Speedway Blvd while the Toyota four-door was eastbound on Speedway Blvd, attempting to make a left turn to head northbound on Houghton Road.
According to Widmer, witnesses say the driver of the Toyota four-door was in the intersection when the signal light turned red. The driver then turned in front of Lundberg's Toyota Prius and the two vehicles collided.
The driver of the Toyota four-door only sustained minor injuries, but Lundberg was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Widmer says Lundberg's condition began to decline so he was transported to University Medical Center where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
