TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Drivers can expect lane restrictions, delays and reduced speed limits starting early next week.
The Arizona Department of Transportation will start roadwork on State Route 79 Tuesday, Sept. 4, according to Heather Murphy of Pinal County Communications and Public Affairs.
ADOT will be working to improve 17 miles between Oracle Junction and Florence, between milepost 111 and milepost 128.
Throughout the road improvement project, ADOT workers will re-strip the roadway and apply a chip seal coat to improve asphalt conditions, according to Murphy.
The project is expected to last two months.
Motorists should expect reduced speed limits through the project corridor.
ADOT wants to remind drivers to proceed with caution through the work zone and look out for construction equipment and personnel.
