FLORENCE, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A deputy pulled over a Ford Explorer last week for driving erratically, and the traffic stop led to a marijuana seizure of more than 360 pounds, according to Elias Johnson, a public information officer with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

Johnson tells KGUN9 that as the deputy left his patrol vehicle during the stop, the truck drove off into the desert, towing a trailer.

It came to a stop at a fence and five people were seen running from the truck.

The deputy then went to check the trailer in tow and saw five more people sitting on top of nine bundles of marijuana.

When the deputy tried to secure the door, the five people rushed out and fled into the desert.

Deputies did not find any of the ten people while searching the area.

All of the items, including the truck and trailer were seized by the PCSO Anti-Smuggling Unit.
