TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department is asking for the help of the public in locating metal thieves.
Deputy Tom Peine tells KGUN9 that on July 2, deputies responded to the report of a theft in the area of Avra Valley Road and Waterman Mountain Road.
A rancher had called in and reported two of his water troughs which are used to provide water for his cattle were stolen, says Peine.
Deputies learned from the rancher that both water tanks had the letters “EF” spray painted on them. In addition to the water troughs, thieves also stole approximately 30 metal fence posts causing the fence line of the corral to collapse.
