Tucson Fire addresses perceived increase in fires
Web Producer: Rikki Mitchell
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Tucson Fire Department has not seen an unusual pattern in fires, despite how some people say they have perceived more fires in recent months, according to Capt. Barrett Baker with TFD.
Baker tells KGUN9 that fires are cyclical, and though the causes behind recent fires have varied, there does not seem to be a pattern within Tucson to generate any concern.
Baker also says TFD responds to a working structure fire every day.
TFD has increased public information within the department, which means more fires are being reported to the media. Baker says the goal is to push the department's public safety message in hopes that more fires can be prevented.
