TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) – The Pima County Elections Director had an emergency call first thing in the morning and he solved the problem with a crowbar.

Brad Nelson, The Pima County Elections Director, tells 9OYS he had to break into a polling location near River and Campbell. He explained that an elections inspector, for some reason, was late to unlock to door.

He was called only about 10 minutes before the polls opened at 6a.m. and had to rush to figure out how to get voters inside.

Nelson explained he grabbed a crowbar from his car and broke the glass door.

Although, there is now damage to the building he said he got the door unlocked in time where it did not interfere with the voting process.
