TUCSON (Tucson Padres) The Tucson Padres and Colorado Springs Sky Sox will not play Wednesday at Kino Stadium, as the Colorado Springs team flight is in a lengthy delay because of severe weather in Las Vegas.
The Sky Sox flew from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas this morning, but their connecting flight to Tucson is not scheduled to leave until tonight because of heavy rain and flooding outside the Las Vegas airport.
The two teams will play a doubleheader Friday starting at 5:35 pm at Kino Stadium. Thursday's game will be played at the regularly scheduled 7:05 pm game time. Friday's doubleheader will consist of two seven-inning games.
Fans who had tickets to Wednesday's game can exchange their seats for any of the remaining four home dates this season. The Padres final homestand goes through Sunday, August 26.
