UPDATE: Streets closed in Nogales due to flooding have reopened

NOGALES, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - An emergency flooding situation closed several street in Nogales, Arizona on Friday.

According to Aaron White with the City of Nogales, there was an emergency flooding situation in and around the City of Nogales.  Several main streets in the City of Nogales were temporarily closed.

The City of Nogales is still on standby as the forecast continues to predict rain.  Flash flooding may continue to occur.  All residents are urged to use caution when driving on City streets and roads or close to storm drains or washes.

Residents can access sandbags at the Safeway Parking Lot at 465 West Mariposa Road.

The City of Nogales is asking for residents to only call 9-1-1 in case of an emergency situation.

An emergency shelter has been made available at the City of Nogales Housing Authority located at 350 West Western Avenue.
