Gabby Giffords returns home to Tucson

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, are moving back to the Old Pueblo.
At approximately 7:00 a.m. Sunday, Kelly sent out a message on Twitter- " Moving back to Tucson today. Gabby has been waiting for this day a long time."
It has been a long road to get here.
The first images from the January 8th shooting were of Gabby- lying on a gurney and being rushed away with a gunshot wound to her head.
10 months later, after spending months in intensive therapy in Houston, Gabby's first public words in an exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer.
Now a year and a half after the tragedy that took her away from Tucson, she is back.
Congressman Ron Barber says he's happy to have Gabby back.
He sent us this statement- "I'm sure that Tucson and all of Arizona feels like I do today- we are happy to have our friend home. I know how hard she has worked to be able to move back and it's wonderful to see her accomplish yet another goal in her recovery."
