SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Jaron Parr, 22, has been arrested by Sierra Vista Police following a pharmacy robbery and barricade.
Cpl. Scott Borgstadt tells KGUN9 that on August 5, police received a call about a male subject threatening the pharmacist with a knife at the Walgreens located at 1950 East Fry Boulevard.
Officers arrived at the store and learned Parr had jumped the counter of the pharmacy and held the pharmacist at knife-point demanding narcotic drugs.
When the pharmacist opened the cabinet containing the drugs, Parr released him. He then barricaded himself in the pharmacy, says Borgstadt.
SVPD Special Response Team responded and began negotiations with Parr. He surrendered a short time later and was taken into custody.
The pharmacist was injured during the robbery and was treated and released at the hospital.
Parr was booked into the Cochise County Jail on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and possession of narcotics.
