Power outages cause road closures

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Thousands of people are without power in Tucson after a severe thunderstorm ripped through Pima County.
Joseph Barrios, with Tucson Electric Power, tells KGUN 9 at least 4,500 are without power at 10:45 Sunday night.
Alvernon is closed in both directions south of Benson Highway to Valencia as crews work to repair 10 downed power poles.
Photos from viewer, Alden N. show a string of power poles lying on the ground. Barrios says this stretch will be closed through Monday morning.
Prince Road is also closed in both directions between Campbell and Wilson through Monday morning.
