A southside shooting leaves one dead

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - One man is dead after a motel shooting on the southside.
Tucson Police Sgt. Maria Hawke says 27-year-old David Rodriguez has succumbed to injuries sustained during a motel shooting that occurred in the 1000 block of east Benson Highway around 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
After Tucson police responded to multiple calls about a shooting they discovered two victims, a male and a female, who were suffering from obvious signs of trauma, according to Hawke.
Rodriguez was suffering from life-threatening injuries at the time officers arrived on scene.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital by the Tucson Fire Department.
Several people were detained for investigative reasons and Tucson police are still searching for suspects in the incident and a motive for the shooting.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
