GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead outside a fast food restaurant in Glendale.
Police spokesman Sgt. Brent Coombs says the officer spotted a stolen vehicle Saturday afternoon occupied by two men.
He tells the Arizona Republic that at some point during the encounter the officer fired his weapon and fatally wounded a man in his late 20s or early 30s.
Coombs says investigators still don't know "exactly what occurred yet with the driver's aggression against the officer that he felt the need to draw his service weapon and fire."
He says police are interviewing potential witnesses. The other man was taken into custody.
No names were released.
