Man gets prison time for obscene conduct with minor

PHOENIX (KGUN9-TV) - A Senior U.S. District Judge sentenced a man to eight years in prison after he pled guilty to attempted distribution of obscene material to a minor earlier this year.
The father of a 15-year-old girl alerted Kansas City Police that a Phoenix man had been communicating with his daughter via the internet.
Following the tip, an undercover detective made contact with 61-year-old Barry Baker and posed as another underage female.
During Baker's plea hearing, he admitted to sending obscene photos of himself masturbating to the undercover officer under the impression he was sending the images to a minor.
Senior U.S. District Judge Paul G. Rosenblatt sentenced Baker to eight years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
This case is part of a nationwide effort to combat the sexual exploitation and abuse of minors known as Project Safe Childhood.
