SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A small plane slid off the runway at the Scottsdale Airport on Monday, injuring two people on board.
Airport spokeswoman Sarah Ferrara says the single-engine plane slid off the runway during a touch-and-go maneuver around 9:30 a.m.
She says that the two people on board had minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
The runway was shut down for just under three hours after the incident.
News footage showed significant damage to the plane, including a crushed nose, bent and broken wings and no visible landing gear.
Meanwhile the pilot of a corporate jet carrying 40 people reported hearing a noise shortly after taking off from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport on Monday morning.
The plane landed safely soon after.
