Sgt. Chris Widmer tells KGUN9 that on June 26, officers received a 9-1-1 call in reference to gun shots being heard in the 8500 block of East 18th Street.
When officers arrived on scene, they located Genna Ayup, who was suffering from obvious signs of
trauma.
Tucson Fire transported Ayup to a local area hospital where she later died as a results of her injuries.
The Homicide Unit responded, but it has not been determined that this incident is criminal in nature.
This does appear to be an isolated incident and everyone involved is believed to be accounted for, says Widmer.
