Ron Barber to hold 'Congress on Your Corner'

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV/AP) - Congressman Ron Barber will hold his first "Congress on Your Corner" event in Tucson on Saturday afternoon.
This is the same type of event that former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was holding on Jan. 8, 2011, when a gunman shot her and 18 others outside a Tucson grocery store, killing six and injuring the rest, including Giffords and Barber.
Barber won a special election to replace Giffords this month and says the "Congress on Your Corner" event that he plans for Saturday afternoon will allow residents to meet their congressman one-on-one and discuss the federal government.
Barber was sworn in Tuesday.
The event will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Safeway located at Grant Road and Craycroft Road.
