FLAGSTAFF, Ariz., (KGUN9-TV) - A 14-year-old Tucson boy was seriously injured at Lake Powell when his leg hit the boat's propeller, according to officials with the Coconino County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies responded Monday to Navajo Canyon on Lake Powell where they learned a boy had been knee boarding behind a boat, and his shorts became lodged in the moving propeller.
He suffered several serious cuts to his right leg and side.
Deputies say a doctor was nearby and provided on-scene assistance until the boy was air-lifted to a nearby hospital.
Deputies are still investigating the incident.
