TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Two men have been arrested and charged on drug cultivation charges.
Deputy Tom Peine tells KGUN9 that on June 18, Counter Narcotics Alliance investigators discovered an elaborate indoor marijuana growing operation at a home located in the 5300 block of West El Camino del Cerro.
There were 367 marijuana plants discovered inside two rooms in the home. They rooms had been converted exclusively for the purposes of growing and cultivating marijuana, said Peine.
Investigators have arrested 71-year-old Richard Allen Weaver and a 36-year-old Clinton Andrew Guthrie.
Evidence found at the home indicates that Weaver and Guthrie were selling high grade marijuana for $3500 per pound. In addition to the marijuana, investigators seized a significant amount of hydroponic grow equipment, an assault rifle and two handguns.
Weaver and Guthrie booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on drug cultivation charges.
The potential street value of the marijuana is estimated to be in excess of $1,200,000.
