NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - Federal authorities have seized nearly $2.5 million worth of marijuana hidden in a shipment of watermelons in southern Arizona.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say almost 5,000 pounds of marijuana was seized and a Mexican man arrested at the Mariposa Cargo facility in Nogales.

Officers referred a 26-year-old man for a secondary inspection of his tractor-trailer load of melons on Saturday afternoon.

A physical inspection of the shipment revealed 674 bundles of marijuana weighing almost 5,000 pounds co-mingled with the shipment.

Authorities say the marijuana was disguised as melons.

The tractor-trailer, drugs and produce were processed for seizure. The driver was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
