Monsoon officially underway in Arizona

PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona's monsoon storm season has arrived.
The National Weather Service said the season where the state typically sees more thunderstorms and rain started Friday. The last day of the season is Sept. 30.
A shift in winds during the summer months typically results in showers and thunderstorms in Phoenix and around the state.
Monsoon storms can produce winds and blow dust, creating severe dust storms or haboobs. Meteorologists say monsoon storms can make driving difficult with lightning and flash-flooding risks.
However, no rainfall is expected in Phoenix anytime soon.
Meteorologist Matthew Hirsch says high temperatures for the Phoenix area next week are expected to hit 110 degrees.
