TUCSON (KGUN9- TV) - The search for missing 6-year-old Isabel Celis continues more than a month after her disappearance. Thursday, volunteers moved their headquarters, and got help from Isa's parents Sergio and Rebecca Celis. It's the first time the couple has been seen together publicly since CPS asked Sergio to stay away from his other two children.
The Celis family has remained private throughout the investigation, but they joined volunteers at the Abbie Loveland Tuller School to move supplies into an indoor location for the summer. Volunteers wanted to get out of the heat and a soon-to-be construction zone, where they had previously set up a booth in a parking lot near the Celis residence.
"We're going to try and continue to do that but obviously we're kind of behind Park Place," said volunteer and family friend Heath Gregory, "so we're going to start making huge banners and huge signs and we're going to start talking to each of these neighbors and see if we can put some A-frame signs up in their front yard so it's not in anybody's way and start getting traffic back here."
Sergio and Rebecca declined on-camera interviews, but did pitch in to help clean and organize supplies with volunteers. Gregory says the couple is still hopeful for their daughter's safe return, and so is he.
"I pray every day that somebody's going to see her or somebody's going to find her and we're going to get her home," said Gregory.
All proceeds from t-shirts, bracelets, and other items depicting the missing girl will go toward more banners, fliers and signs to keep her picture in the public eye.
Isabel Celis went missing 34 days ago from her Tucson home. Police are still investigating the case.
