Several fires reported in Sierra Vista area

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Cochise County Sheriff is reporting Palominas Fire has been dispatched to the area of Campanini Mesa near the U.S/Mexico Border. State Land has advised that there is a fire in Mexico at that location and they feel certain it will cross into the U.S. shortly.
According to Carol Capas, Santa Cruz County has a fire burning at or near mile post 6 on Highway 83.
On Monday afternoon, there were reports of a grass fire in the area of Keeling Road south of Sierra Vista. The Fry Fire Department responded along with sheriff deputies.
The damage for the blaze is estimated at 5 acres. One storage shed on the Apache Point Ranch property burned. No other structures were affected.
As a safety measure, a pre-evacuation was called for and 12 houses were notified, but no one left the area. The fire has since been contained.
