MESQUITE, Nev. (AP) - Rescuers are looking for a 3-year-old girl who was swept into the Virgin River near Mesquite.
Mesquite police officials say the girl was playing on the side of the river when she fell in about 12:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say the child went into the water near the Riverside Road bridge that connects Mesquite to Bunkerville. That's about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
Las Vegas police have been called to assist in the search.
