PHOENIX (AP) - Crews at the arena where the Phoenix Coyotes are fighting to get to the Stanley Cup finals have their own competition going - against the elements.
The Arizona Republic says workers at Jobing.com Arena are working to maintain the ice as temperatures in and around Phoenix continue to climb.
According to the NHL, an arena should be about 60 degrees with 40 percent humidity.
Jobing.com crews have kept air conditioning high and carefully scheduled deliveries to preserve the cold air. Meanwhile, the outside temperature Tuesday is expected to be 107 degrees.
The Coyotes are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Kings at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.
