PHOENIX (AP) - A small helicopter crashed in between two homes in east Phoenix, landing in a tree and knocking off part of a home's roof.
The Phoenix fire department says two men were on board the helicopter when it went down in a neighborhood just before noon Wednesday. They were both taken to a local trauma center but appeared to be in stable condition. There was no fire and no apparent injuries on the ground.
A witness told 12 News that she thought a lawn mower engine had blown up at her neighbor's home then found the helicopter had crashed.
The copter crashed in an east Phoenix neighborhood about four miles north of Sky Harbor International Airport.
