PCSD investigating bank robbery, suspicious device

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating a bank robbery where the suspect also left a suspicious device before fleeing the scene.
Deputy Dawn Barkman with PCSD tells KGUN9 that deputies responded to the Chase Bank inside the Basha’s Shopping Center located at 8360 North Thornydale Road regarding a bank robbery.
A Hispanic male entered the bank, approached a teller and made demands for money. He
told the bank teller he had a bomb. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect
left a suspicious package on the teller window and fled the bank., says Barkman.
The bank, Basha’s and adjacent stores were immediately evacuated.
The Pima County Regional Bomb Squad conducted an investigation into the validity of the device and have determined it was a hoax.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30's-40’s, 5’7” to 5’9” tall. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark colored shirt and a yellow reflective traffic vest. He was also wearing a black wig under a white “ASU” ball cap.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
