PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a man has been shot and killed at a fast-food drive-thru in southwest Phoenix. KPHO-TV (http://bit.ly/HUCee2) says it happened Tuesday night near 51st Avenue and Baseline Road.
Detectives said a man waiting in line in his car at the drive-thru felt threatened by another man who allegedly had a pipe. Police said the customer in the car shot and killed the other man.
Police tell KTVK-TV (http://bit.ly/HUCaex ) they weren't able to say if the dead man, possibly a transient, was actually armed.
The shooter called police and was taken into custody for questioning. Detectives said he was being cooperative. It's unknown whether he will face any charges or if the shooting will be deemed self-defense.
The identities of those involved have not been released.
