MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Mesa fire department officials say a plane has crashed near Falcon Field. Fire department spokesman Forrest Smith says two people are dead.
Smith did not have any other details.
KTVK-TV helicopter video shows blackened wreckage and earlier video showed a plume of smoke.
The plane went down at the end of a runway and apparently slammed into a berm just short of a greenbelt area.
A red tarp has been placed over the wreckage.
