Garage fire leaves two homeless

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Fire Firefighters arrived at the scene of a house fire on the 5000 Block of South Greenway Drive just after 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Authorities report the fire started in the garage of the residence. When Tucson fire crews arrived on scene they made an access to fire by cutting a hole in the garage allowing heat, gases, and smoke to ventilate. It took 25 firefighters 16 minutes to get the fire under control.
Investigators estimate the damages to be $50,000.
No one was injured in the fire, according to authorities.
The home belonged to a 53-year-old female and a 69-year-old disabled male.
Red Cross is assisting the couple with food, shelter, clothing.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
