TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Police are investigating the death of a man found in his apartment Tuesday.
Authorities received a telephone call at the Main Police Station from an individual providing information about a murder that occurred at an apartment in the 100 Block of East Blacklidge.
Authorities say the caller was able to specifically identify the location where the incident occurred. Officers went to the apartment and conducted a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers located a dead, adult male inside of the apartment.
Authorities say the man had obvious signs of trauma. The male has been identified as 23-year-old Tucson resident Javier Johansen. Next of kin have been notified.
Detectives from the Homicide Unit are investigating the incident at this time.
Authorities believe Johansen was murdered some time between the dates of March 18, 2012 and March 27, 2012.
Authorities say it is possible that Johansen may have engaged in an altercation during the course of a party at or near the apartment. Because it is so early in the investigation; no other details are available at this time.
Tucson Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or motive of the crime to call 911 or 88-Crime.
