AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A short police chase ended Tuesday on Interstate 10 in Avondale with one man in custody and officers searching for a second man.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says deputies tried to stop a Chevy Tahoe at State Route 85 and I-10 after the driver refused to pull over.
The Tahoe led officers on a short chase that ended at I-10 and Dysart Road in Avondale.
Both men in the Tahoe tried to run. Officers were able to take one man into custody behind a hardware store.
Avondale and Goodyear officers searched drainage tunnels along the freeway, but they found no sign of the man.
The Arizona Republic reports deputies recovered 500 pounds of marijuana inside the Tahoe and a 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a 50-round clip.
